Thoth, the Egyptian god of wisdom, is said to have brought language and hieroglyphics to the humans. He is believed to have spoken himself into existence, and to have hatched the egg that Ra, the god of the sun, hatched from. This being said, there are also many people who believe that Toth is the son of Ra.
Being the god of wisdom, Thoth has been said to give help any god who is in need. This list includes: Horus, Anubis, Isis...etc.

The Two Cities
Once there were two cities. On the east, there was the city of Cyprus, and on the west there was the city of Gyasi. The two cities had been at war for as long as anyone could remember, and it was all because of a lack of communication. You see, neither Gyasi nor Cyprus knew any form of speech or writing, so anytime they attempted to interact, things went violent. That was, until Hasani come along.
Hasani was a well mannered young man from Cyprus who liked to spend his evenings relaxing near a creek that ran along the borders of both Gyasi and Cyprus. One day while Hasani was sitting near the creek, he heard two people yelling and went to investigate. Hasani recodnised the men as a citizen of Cyprus, and the other a citizen of Gyasi. The men were angerly screaming at each other, but Hasani could not understand what they were saying because the two cities had no words that they could express themselves with. This angered Hasani.
That night when Hasani got home, he prayed to the gods, wishing that he, and the others had some way to communicate with each other. Suddenly, a blinding light appeared in the corner of Hasani's house, and he could make out the figure of a man/ibis hybrid. The creature began speaking, and to his surprise, Hasani could understand what the creature was saying. The creature said, "My name is Throth, and i am the god of wisdom! I have heard your prayers and have given you and your people the gift of speech so that you may resolve your differences!" Hasani has shocked yet thrilled at the same time as he spoke, "Oh thank you Throth! I will ensure that everyone knows of your gift and power!" And with that, the bright light went out, and Throth disappeared.
The next day, the people of both Cyprus and Gyasi woke up with the ability to speak! Hasani made sure that everyone knew of Throth's great power. The leaders of each town called a meeting, and talked out their differences. From then on out, the two cities resolved their conflict through letters and speaking.
